The Good News

The Good News

I am many things.

A Husband to my beautiful wife
A Father to two furry mutts
A Son to two outstanding parents
A Older brother
A Small business owner
A Dircetor of a small security team
A Firearm collector
A Glock Amorer
A NRA Member
A Firearm instructor
A Amateur gunsmith
A 2nd amendment activist
A Blade snob

But all of these titles fail in comparison to the most important thing I am.

A follower of Jesus Christ.

I was brought up in church, never really forced to go but always encouraged. I made my best friends in church, met and married my wife in church. But these are not the relationships that have kept me in the doors.

It is the relationship with Jesus Christ.

Nothing in my life defines me more than the decision to except Jesus as my personal lord and savior. It has greatly molded me into the man I am today.

I’ve never been one to preach, never wanting to force feed my beliefs to folks who aren’t interested in hearing it. But I also feel the need to share my experiences and things that speak to me through scripture.

The book of 2nd Timothy outlines it quite clear.

Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths. But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.

So what is the good news?

That while we were still sinners Christ chose to die for our us. Giving his life as a ransom for ours. Through his death on the cross, he paid the price for our sin. Through his resurrection he gave us victory over death. All we have to do is believe.
